Art of Living, Bahrain Chapter have celebrated ONAM at the Palace Inn Hotel on 14th September 2006. Mr.Hassan Bokhamas, Shura Council Member was the Chief Guest. More than 400 people from different background attended the program which included intricately decorated Pookalam, exotic Kaikottikali dance, Panchavadyam, Mohiniyattam, and other cultural and variety programs. The proceeds of the program will be sent for Lebenon Relief Fund. |

A free medical camp was organised by Art of Living volunteers in association with Shifa Al-Jazeera Medical Centre for workers of Ahmed Mansoor Al Ali group at their labour camp near Alba on Friday 22nd September 2006. A team of three doctors and other medical staff from the Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Centre were present. About 250 people took advantage of free medical checkups. Medicines were also provided to the workers. |

On July 30th 2006, a fire broke out in a three-story building in Bahrain in the early morning hours killing sixteen Indian workers and injuring several others. In all nearly 200 others were rescued from the inferno by firemen. The top floor of the building caught fire trapping many of the immigrant workers, who hail mainly from India.
Art of Living conducted a Breath Water Sound Workshop for the fire victims who lost all their belongings. Nearly all of the 200 survivors of the fire tragedy took part in the workshop. They were taught yoga and meditation and the importance of these in harmonizing and energizing the Body, Breath and Mind. |
About 10 delegates from Bahrain took part in the International conference on Integrated Value Education held in Bangalore.

A free Stress Relief Course called Breath Water Sound Workshop was organised by Art of Living volunteers for workers of Ahmed Mansoor Al Aali group Company in Riffa.
About 70 workers took part in the Workshop. |
The Art of Living Foundation Bahrain chapter celebrated Poojya Guruji’s 50th Birthday on 13 May 2006 at the Bahrain Society of Engineers Auditorium, Juffair. The program was attended by more than 400 people from all walks of life. His Excellency Mr Balkrishna Shetty, the Indian Ambassador was the Chief Guest for the occasion and Mr Abdul Nabi Al Shoala, Former Minister of Bahrain was the Guest of Honour. Also present were Mrs Vasundhara Shetty, wife of the Indian Ambassador, and the Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka Mr. P. B. Higgoda and many other dignitaries. It was an evening of celebration and meditation. The theme of the program was “One World Family”.

There was an overwhelming response for the Mind Bogglers Quiz organized by the Bahrain Chapter of the Art of Living Foundation as part of Guruji’s 50th Birthday celebrations.
More than 300 people attended this Quiz event. 46 teams participated in the preliminary round from which the top 6 teams made it to the finals.
It was conducted by the Quiz Masters Hemant Joshi and Ajay Jaiswal. The audience were delighted by another round of quiz conducted by K.Swaminathan, a resident Art of Living Sri Sri Yoga teacher.
The winners were awarded certificates, the Mind Bogglers Quiz 2006 Cup and attractive prizes. The winning team was "Ozone-Friendly“ - represented by Agnel, Dean and Alma Periera and the runner-up team was "Jai Gurudev“ - represented by Ajay Nair, Savithri and A.S. Prasad. The Best Team Name award was won by Team "Akshara" – represented by V V Nath, Lekha and K S Karthikeyan. |
As part of celebration a free eye check up camp was organised by the Art of Living volunteers for the under-privileged in association with Ibn Al Nafees Hospital on Friday, 5th May 2006. A team of doctors and other medical staff from hospital were present. More than 150 people took advantage of the free check up and medicines and free glasses were provided to the people.
A free medical camp was organised by Art of Living volunteers for workers of Shutdown Maintainance Service Company in Sitra in association with Shifa Al-Jazeera Medical Centre on Friday 8th April 2006. A team of three doctors and other medical staff from the Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Centre were present. About 140 people took advantage of free medical checkups. Medicines were also provided to the workers.

This medical camp was part of the 5H program of Art of Living. Art of living proposes to organize several such camps in Bahrain during the coming months to help the under-privileged labourers. |

More than 100 people got the opportunity to do Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis and consultation) by Dr Jignesh Rathod during the last week of March 2006. Personalised nutritional guidelines and health tips to improve youthfulness and strength were provided during the consultation.

A blood donation camp was organised by the Art of Living in association with International Association for Human Values (IAHV). 47 people donated the blood in this camp. Art of Living organises blood donation camps regularly.
Red Crescent Society recognised the effort done by Art of Living and Art of Living was presented a trophy and a certificate by the Society recently in a function organised. |
The much awaited ‘New Age Music Concert’ was held at the Gulf Air Club, Salmabad on December 14, 2005, spreading the message of peace and harmony between nations.
Internationally renowned artist Vikram Hazra and popular Bahraini singer Jassim Darwish enthralled the audience, with their contrasting numbers – soothing and sizzling at the same time.
Jassim enchanted the audience with his foot tapping Bahraini music while singing to the accompaniment of the Indian tabla.
Vikram’s soft and peaceful presence was truly felt by the audience as the multifaceted artist mesmerized them with his performance. His soulful music lifted the spirit of the concert and took the eager listeners on a melodious journey of chanting, singing and devotion.
Soumyojyothi enveloped the divine in silken robes with his hands flying over the black and ivory keys. Bijoy’s tabla beat in unison with the divine’s footsteps as it ran in a hurry to occupy a seat firmly in the hearts of the people of Bahrain.
The event was also graced by Her Excellency, Shaikha Maram, our guest of honour from the office of Her Highness, Queen of Bahrain.
