Medicines For Lebanon Refugees

Medicines distributed at the refugee camps in Beirut and trauma relief camps were conducted in September 2006.

IAHV Middle East, in association with Dubai Humanitarian City, launched a medicine collection drive. The volunteers in Lebanon gave a list of essential medicines that were required and this was circulated to IAHV volunteers all around UAE.

The American hospital donated essential life support medical equipment also along with medicines. The total value of the shipment was around $200,000. The logistics of reaching the shipment were very difficult, as Israel had blockaded surface and air traffic.

The shipment was sent by road to Damascus, then to Jordan. From there it was eventually flow in by Queen Rania’s private plane to reach Beirut.
