There is a power in our words and our thoughts. It has been scientifically proven that our words affect the environment around us. On January 14, Sri Sri will lead thousands of people from all castes and religions in a chant of “Aum Namah Shivaya” for world peace.
“Aum Namah Shivaya” is one of the most ancient Sanskrit mantras. These Sanskrit syllables, when chanted, resonate sound vibrations that balance the five elements in our body, mind and environment.
“Aum” refers to the universal consciousness and is imbibed in cultures across the world. Amin in Islam, Shalom among Jews and Amen in Christianity.
The syllables of Namah Shivaya translate into: Na (Earth), Mah (Water), Shi (Fire), Va (Air), Ya (Space).
Significance:
When repeated several times, these syllables bring:
harmony to the mind, leaving you calm and centered.
Chanting positively affects the individual and collective consciousness, leading to inner peace & societal harmony
