Yoga et Diabète

ETout le monde gagne à pratiquer le yoga, à condition de suivre une formation appropriée et de continuer à pratiquer.

Bénéfices pour le corps de la pratique régulière du yoga :

Le diabète est de deux types : de type 1, lorsqu’il n'y a pas de production d'insuline, et de type 2, lorsque le pancréas ne produit pas suffisamment d'insuline. Dans de nombreux cas, il est également facile d'ignorer le diabète à ses débuts, en particulier, lorsque l’on n’a pas de symptômes.

La pratique du yoga est efficace en tant que mesure préventive, mais aussi pour traiter le diabète de type 2, lorsque les causes sont attribuées au style de vie et au stress.

Le Sri Sri Yoga est attentif à tous les aspects d'un asana : l’entrée dans la posture, la tenue de la posture et la sortie, ainsi que le contrôle de la respiration. Une formation correcte est donc essentielle avant la pratique individuelle.

Les asanas et pranayamas suivants sont efficaces pour le diabète. Ils doivent être appris avec un bon encadrement avant d’être pratiqués :

Description of some of the Asanas

Cobra Posture (Bhujangasan)

  • Lie on your abdomen, forehead on the floor, hands under the shoulders, palms on the ground, elbows close to the rib cage, feet together with soles facing up, heels touching and pressing the pelvis and navel firmly on the ground
  • Breathing in and keeping the hands and elbows on the floor, look up and, gently arching the spine, lift the chest up
  • Relax the shoulders and focus on bending from the upper back
  • Hold
  • Lift the elbows slightly off the floor but keep the elbows half bent and close to the body
  • Relax the shoulders and focus on bending from the upper back
  • Hold
  • Breathing out, lower the chest and forehead to the floor. Relax
  • Repeat the posture, this time straightening the elbows all the way up, keeping them close to the body. Lift your chin up
  • Hold
  • Release and rest

Bow Posture (Dhanurasan)

  • Lie on your abdomen, feet together, and forehead on the floor
  • Bend your legs to the buttocks and hold the feet under the toes with your hands
  • Breathing in, raise the head, chest and knees up
  • Focus on widening the shoulders, bringing the knees together and lifting them higher
  • Straighten the elbows by pushing the hands away with the feet and lift the chin up
  • Hold
  • Breathing out, gently come down, and press feet down onto buttocks to stretch the quadriceps
  • Release and relax

  • Strengthens the abdominal muscles and massages and tones all internal organs
  • Improves respiration
