1500 kids to be a part of the summer retreat at The Art of Living campus

Bangalore: Welcoming their summer holidays this season will be 1500 kids from all across India as well as Singapore, and Malyasia at The Art of Living International Centre. Participating in the summer retreat titled 'Colours of Joy', from 31st May- 3rd June, the Generation Next will be taken on a fun -filled yet a learning spree with the unique workshop which offers a bouquet of programs designed for kids from 8-17 years.


The four-day workshop will focus on the all round growth of the child, helping them to overcome inhibitions, fears, achieve good health, enhance confidence and creativity. Equipping them with the art of dealing with stress will be the yoga and meditation sessions. The workshop will include a special interactive session for the young brigade with The Art of Living founder, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The session will have the spiritual master address issues and queries on career, peer-pressure, choices in life, relationships, success and failure among others.

Shreya Chugh, Faculty, The Art of Living who will be conducting the workshop shared, "The workshop is designed to let the children bloom into more confident, and happy individuals. It will offer every child the unique opportunity to interact, share and experience different cultures and mindsets. They will be taught to see life in equanimity and to accept challenges and learn from different experiences."

Interactive sessions addressing personal and social challenges that today's children face; games and fun-filled activities to promote team-spirit, camaraderie and alertness; and musical evenings will also feature in this workshop. A time to 'go back to the roots', children will be treated to special sessions on chanting, the Subhashitas, Gita, stories from the Puranas, handicraft and pottery workshops , talks on organic farming, a trip to the 'gaushala'(cowshed) and an interesting discourse on the glory of India. The participants will also conduct awareness campaigns in the nearby villages on anti-tobacco and alcohol consumption, health and hygiene.

The Retreat offers programs that are specially designed for specific age-groups:

- ART EXCEL (All Round Training in Excellence) specially for kids between 8-13, it is aimed at channelizing a child's brimming energy through various meditative techniques and interactive sessions leading to improved health, memory and concentration.

- Youth Empowerment Seminar (YES!), tailored to address the needs of children aged 13 to 17 years. The workshop equips participants with powerful processes that help channelize young energy and improve focus. Special breathing techniques like the 'Sudarshan Kriya' to help cleanse their mind and body of toxins, stresses, negative emotions and various mental barriers.

- YES!2 course- a dynamic, vibrant workshop that takes the sense of responsibility, understanding , confidence and self-belief in young minds to altogether new heights. It also stirs creativity, a sense of belongingness and compassion.
