The Art of Living Unveils A New Therapy To Treat Heart Diseases

Karnataka, India

Art of Living founder, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar inaugurated a US FDA approved treatment for heart disease called ‘Enhanced external counter pulsation (EECP)’ at The Art of living International Centre.

The inauguration took place at the Sri Sri Ayurveda Panchakarma - the Ayurveda and wellness spa in collaboration with The Global Heart Foundation, Pune. The facility will be operated by Enhanced Hearts, Bangalore.

Speaking at the inauguration Gurudev said, “EECP is one of the first allopathic treatments which does not involve invasive procedures or medication but provides clinical improvement to cardiac patients in a natural way.”

The centre will focus on holistic heart care, offering highly specialised yet affordable treatment through a combination of state of the art EECP therapy with effective herbal medicines and panchakarma therapies. The treatment will be offered to cardiac patients to enhance cardiac and vascular health.

EECP is a non-invasive heart treatment which is gaining wider acceptance among physicians and patients due to its high success rate in treating cardiac disease. The treatment is out patient based, with no hospital admission, given for one hour per day for 35 consecutive days. The treatment:

  • Opens dormant collaterals

  • Formation of new micro vessels

  • Increased blood supply to heart muscles

  • Improves heart functioning

  • Relieves chest pain and shortness of breath

The treatment significantly improves the blood supply to the heart muscle. Recent clinical evidence suggest significant improvement in blood flow by developing collaterals and opening up of dormant capillaries , which has been confirmed by pet scan and angiogram. Thus, it works like a natural bypass.” Shares Dr. Keshav Prasad, Chief Operating Officer, Sri Sri Ayureda Panchkarma.

The inauguration was attended by Shri Prasanth Nair, Director, Sri Sri Ayurveda Panchakarma, Mr. Sujal Narayan, Trustee, Global Heart Foundation, Dr. Ramasamy, International Medical Director, EECP USA and Dr. Sanjay Shirbur, Managing Director Enhanced Hearts.
