Guru Story : Many Unique Baby Showers for her!

Even before I gave birth to my baby, my dad went and told Gurudev that my daughter is in the hospital for her delivery. Gurudev said, “Yeah, yeah, name her Gaurangi.” Now, my dad was confused as he didn’t know whether it’s a girl or a boy! He told Gurudev that we don’t know the gender! Gurudev just laughed and said, “Yeah, if it’s so, then name the baby Gaurang!” To our surprise, it was a girl and so, the name was given much before the baby was born. In fact the name was so appropriate, it was according to her sign and it was the day when you worship the cow. It’s called as Gokashtami and it was just perfect. So, whenever the master does something, it is perfect.

This is not it! The birth of the baby itself is a wonderful story!

Anjana Vivek, a dynamic faculty with The Art of Living, based out of Mumbai, has received multiple baby-shower surprises from her Master which she shares with the same joy and gratitude even today!

"I was expecting my second baby and my due date was very close, when I got to know that Gurudev was going to Gujarat. I wanted to travel with Gurudev, so I found out all the ways to reach Gujarat. Of course the doctor didn’t allow, as my delivery was at any point. I found out that the roads were very bad; I could not take the car or travel by train. But I had an intense urge to meet Gurudev. Interestingly, on the same day in the evening, I came to know that Gurudev is going to Gujarat via Mumbai. So I reached the airport and I was heavily pregnant so I was standing away from the rush. Someone said, 'I will take you inside and you can meet Gurudev.' By the time we were inside, Gurudev came out and I was the first person to meet him. I took his blessing, I hugged him and he asked me about my health. The moment I ended my conversation, there was this whole rush of people moving in. But I don’t think anybody could meet Gurudev as the security took him away.

I felt as if he came just to meet me, the feeling was so personalized! The conversation for two minutes was so nice.

The next time I went to my doctor, suddenly, at the last moment, she said that I have to take a Sonography. I did it and found out that in the uterus the water unit that generally needs to be 20 for delivering a baby, had only one unit. The doctor suggested that I need to go for a C section. I just asked the doctor if I can have a day for myself and I’ll come back to the hospital. My dad was at the Ashram and he told Gurudev that there is a challenge in the delivery.

Gurudev said, “Don’t worry, tell her that everything will be ok, everything will be fine,” and then he said to opt for normal delivery. When I told my doctor about this, she said that if the heartbeats go down then it’s a danger for both. But still we opted for the normal delivery. I was admitted in the hospital and I had unshakeable faith. I was very clear that nothing wrong would happen. Interestingly the heartbeat of mine and my baby’s, till the time I was taken to the delivery room to the time I delivered, was normal! I thus had a normal delivery!  It’s like Gurudev had told it right, so there was nothing to worry about!” she concludes.

As the night spread its blanket over us, sitting below a tree, her face shone brighter than the moonlight and a smile that expressed volumes about her blissful journey with her Master! Gurudev had once said that 'I will love you more than a mother loves her new-born' and here, Anjana received much more love and care as she was on the verge of becoming a mother herself!
