ALLAHABAD: Demanding enactment of a Lok Pal bill to check the rising cases of corruption in public life, a padayatra would be taken out by eminent citizens of the city on Sunday from Tashkent Marg which would pass through different parts of the city and terminate at the Civil Lines crossing.

Informing this, spokesperson India Against Corruption, Birendra Sharma said: "A campaign has been started by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, yoga guru, Swami Ramdev, Swami Agnivesh demanding setting up of institution of Lok Pal at the Centre and Powerful Lok Ayukta in states.'' The event would also coincide with the martyrdom of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

He added that the initiative is a result of announcements made by Congress president, Sonia Gandhi regarding setting up of institution of Lok Pal to fight against corruption. However, the format of institution of Lok Pal put forward by the Central government is nothing but a farce.
