Pakistan School Massacre - International Appeal and Prayer for Peace

The Art of Living Founder, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and leaders from across the world condemned the Pakistan siege.

"This culture of violence has to end. We express our solidarity and support with the victims and their families. Our prayers are with them. We lack words and can only say that please do not lose faith in humanity, it is still alive. We are all with you. We share your grief and we are there to share your challenges, issues and your problems. We all unitedly should fight against terrorism and against these inhumane tendencies," said Gurudev.

The world leaders had gathered at the Art of Living International center. Present on the occasion were, Dr. Gunnar Stålsett, Bishop Emeritus & Hon. President - Religions for Peace, Norway; H.E Dr. Abdul Salam Majali, Former Prime Minister of Jordan, Chairman of the Islamic World Academy of Sciences, Jordan; Mrs. Annemarie Lizin, Honorary Speaker of the Senate of the Kingdom of Belgium; Mr. Nishihara Teruo, Philanthropist and Business Person from Japan; Prof. H.K. Chang, Honorary Professor & Yeh-Lu Xun Professor, Peking University and Former President, City University of Hong Kong.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gunnar Stålsett, Bishop Emeritus. Hon. President, Religions for Peace Norway shared, "We want to pray that you will have the strength to come through this painful time. We will also commit to ourselves to struggle against all forms of fanatism: fanatism in the name of religion, fanatism in the name of God. Because fanatism and extremism is a violation against God, against humans and our dignity."

Emphasizing on the need for building an understanding among people of different faiths, Prof. H.K. Chang, Honorary Professor & Yeh-Lu Xun Professor, Peking and Former President, University of Hong Kong added, "This way we hope that we can gradually build a world that all of us can embrace. And uphold values that all of us can benefit from."
