Orissa Floods 2011

Floods wreaked havoc in 30 districts of Orissa. Districts like Kendrapara, Puri, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, and Balasore were the worst affected. Around 14 lakh people were affected across 19 districts in the state.

Rehabilitation efforts

Having a solid track record in executing relief work all over the world, the Art of Living immediately plunged into action. The Bhubaneswar chapter of the Art of Living along with the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association organized various relief and free health checkup camps in the affected districts. They were the first ones to reach out to in most of the districts.

The volunteers along with a team of specialized doctors worked tirelessly reaching out to around 10,000 people in camps which were organized at Bada Ankola and Sana Ankola Fakirpada in Delanag block and Hellari Jamara U.P. School in Goap block of Puri district, Aul, Indupur and Ratnagiri of Kendrapara district, Basri area, Bhurunga Panchayat of Bari P.S, Bhingarpur, Sujanpur of Jajpur. Essential items like cooked food, clothes, medicines, and distilled water pouches were distributed.
