The New International Center for Meditation & Well Being

Set in the majestic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Boone, North Carolina, the new International Center for Meditation and Well-Being is already a place of uplifting spiritual energy and serenity.

Starting with its June 29, 2012, inauguration, the Center will host events and programs that help strengthen both individuals and the underlying bond we share as human beings. Some programs are already being offered here. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the world-renowned humanitarian, spiritual leader, and Art of Living founder, envisions the Center as a platform for sustaining and strengthening human values. Through its programs, conferences, and outreach work, the Center will contribute to both individual and world peace.

Longer term, the center will host a holistic wellness center and a university specializing in ancient Vedic knowledge and the healing system of ayurveda.

The area is home to Appalachian State University, Boone, and its more than 16,000 students. Several smaller colleges are also in the region.

  • A main meditation hall -- a 41,152 sq ft structure with an 18, 500 sq ft hall.

  • A small meditation hall – 7,192 sq ft

  • Four program rooms – 3,124 sq ft each

  • A 46,504 sq ft main dining hall with state-of-the-art kitchen and spectacular views

  • A small dining hall – 7,192 sq ft

  • 17 residence buildings-- 310 rooms with a bath, and 108 apartments with kitchenettes (multiple occupancy)

  • An 11,446 sq ft office and warehouse building, with four warehouses and 19 offices
