Maha Satsang entitled "Aashirvad" (Blessings) was attended by thousand of people, including over 100 Chinese and Taiwanese. Sharing with the crowd that Naxals are brave people and are doing 'tapasya' in jungle, that they are fighting to make India free of inequality and poverty, The Art of Living founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said here on Sunday. "Like you, I also want India to be free from poverty, corruption, casteism and disparity. But I do not support your ways to achieve these goals. Your ways are wrong," said Sri Sri.

Inauguration of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram, Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India. 21 January 2012

Sri Sri inaugurated Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram in Shekhwara, a village near Bodh Gaya. Spread over 13 acres of land the centre will focus on social services, rural development programs, youth leadership training programs, save a girl child program and a host of other courses initiated by The Art of Living. The meditation hall and accommodation facilities will accommodate over 1000 people. The Ashram will have an ayurvedic clinic, a panchakarma centre, a goshala for over 100 indigenous cows, a nursery with herbal and medicinal plants, ATMs, a post office and a travel desk to assist visitors.

'Taal Ninad' Guinness World Record, Solapur, India. 17 January 2012

"Taal Ninad", a unique event in which 1,536 artists claimed their place in the Guinness Book of World Records, for the maximum number of musicians performing together on one stage. The artists comprised of 1,236 tabla and 300 pakhawaj players. Sri Sri shared how The Art of Living and Solapur share a very old and unique connection. He had the people gathered to pledge not to drink alcohol, and to make time to keep the city clean. Sri Sri turned to the musicians and said, "You must play the tabla such, that the darkness is dispelled. One dark cloud, we believe, is enveloping the society and the other, the mind. When the mind is negative, it goes into depression. One doesn’t want to do anything. One develops the feeling that everything is wrong, nothing is okay." Sri Sri shared how we all are like the sweets eaten on this day, "We are tiny and sweet; delightful like sesame seeds with jaggery" Sri Sri also spoke to the thousands who attended, about devotion, corruption, cleanliness and how The Art of Living is making a difference in lives all over the world. 'Pearls Of Wisdom' - Sri Sri addressed 8000 delegates at the Orchid Convention Centre, Pune. Sri Sri spent 2 hours with the crowd, taking them through yoga, meditation and a Q&A session. Sri Sri also shared "In every 1,000 people there are 995 who believe in goodness and truth, but unfortunately they choose to remain inert and thus, let the remaining 5, who are dishonest, rule. Our souls are in slumber and the time has come to awaken it. If there is intention, everything is possible. It is important to move forward, and make way for others. Holding on to power for generations can never be progressive"

Swami Vivekananda birth celebrations. 8th January 2012 Kolkata, India

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar delivered the Presidential address on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda at Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi

Sri Sri spoke on the great work done and continued by the Ramakrishna Mission. On how Swami Vivekananda left the Youth of India with a vision and a dream for a beautiful, prosperous and just India. Sri Sri also shared "We work very closely with the Ramakrishna Mission in Arunachal Pradesh. The hospitals, the schools and the Art of Living volunteers all work together. They face several challenges there without an iota of regret, anger or hatred." Read more

Swami Vivekananda birth celebrations. 8th January 2012. Kolkata, India.

Sri Sri was at Swami Vivekananda's house, for his 150th birth anniversary celebrations. He also inaugurated a walk, at the Scottish Church College, to commemorate the event.

In Joka, Sri Sri spoke at the Indian Institute of Management. He addressed the students and the faculty, emphasizing the importance of innovating management to address local needs. Sri Sri's wit, wisdom, and creativity, was applauded by everyone present.

Sri Sri visited the Drug de-Addiction centre, run by Ved Vignan Maha Vidya Peeth, an Art of Living initiation, he met, and blessed the residents who are currently undergoing therapy.
