Honorary President of the Hampi Utsav Committee

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was the Honorary President of the government-led organizing committee for Hampi Utsav. The festival celebrated the 500th year anniversary of Hampi's emperor Krishnadevaraya's coronation.The organizing body was called Shri Krishnadevaraya Pattabhishekha Mahotsava Committee (Government of Karnataka). Hampi, located in the state of Karnataka, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony at the famous Hampi temple, Gurudev said: “Every stone, here in the ruins, is lit - shining, reminding us of its glorious past. Similarly, our human values should shine through.Celebrations bring us together. Drop your worries. Intelligent people spend their time in celebrations.”
