Gurudev was a keynote speaker at the Summit of Religious Leaders in response to HIV in Netherlands on March 23, 2010. He urged religious leaders to speak openly about the disease. “I am of the firm opinion that stigma and discrimination around the disease can only be overcome if religious leaders openly speak about it,” said Gurudev, urging the creation of an effective action plan that is compassionate, effective and humane. Gurudev said: “If all of us can take on this project to educate the youth, to educate youngsters about healthy living, positive thinking and a stigma-free, inhibition-free attitude towards people, we have taken a big step.”
