The Art of Living joins hands with CCRYN - Ministry of AYUSH

As a prelude to the International Day of Yoga, The Art of Living​ ​ has been invited by ​Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, the yoga council of the Ministry of AYUSH ​to conduct month long yoga camps in 66 districts across 19 states​ beginning May 21st, 2015​.

"Yoga has been an integral part of our tradition. We need to revive these values to create a hea​lth​y, happy and stress-free society." shares​​ ​ Kamlesh Barwal, Global Head, The Sri Sri Yoga.

The month long camps will culminate on June 21st with a celebration marking The International Day of Yoga and will see participation from Nehru Yuva Kendra, NCC, NSS as well as the citizens of each city.

​Since May 1st,​ ​T​he Art of Living has​ already​ been conducting free yoga sessions which has garnered enthusiastic participation from people from all walks of life. The organization has been conducting Free Yog Shibirs across India to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and to encourage people to inculcate the practice​ ​ or healthy living. So far, more than 40,​000 people have benefited from these Yog Shibirs in India.

Emphasizing on the need to adopt yoga as healthy way of life, The Art of Living will be conducting numerous events across the globe on June 21st.Many cities in India along with108 cities around the globe will be leading the yoga day celebrations.Some of the countries and cities participating in the event a​reBuenos Aires, Berlin, Mexico, Toronto, Calgary, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Tokyo, Singapore, Penang, Nigeria, Ulaan-Baatar, Melborne, Perth, Auckland, St.Petersbu​rg will be leading the yoga day celebrations.

The Sri Sri Yoga is a holistic way of life that integrates all elements of ancient knowledge of Yoga, to make a prayerful discipline uniting the body, mind and soul. Along with the series of simple yet effective yoga postures and breathing techniques, a greater emphasis is placed on the inner experience of meditation, for the well-being of mind. The programs quickly restore balance by helping to strengthen the body, calm the mind, regain focus and improve self- confidence.
