Gurudev, what should I do so that I can put an end to my habit of abusing others with bad words?

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:

Okay, just remind yourself that you will have to spend Rs. 20,000 every time you speak bad words. For every bad word you use, you are going to lose Rs. 20,000. If you think that Rs. 20,000 is a small amount, you can raise the penalty to Rs. 1 Lakh.
Just imagine you were going to get Rs. 1 lakh from somewhere, and just by using one bad word, you will have to lose it all. So remind yourself that you are losing out on your good luck by speaking harsh words and abuses.

Also, listening to someone’s abuses and harsh words increases your good fortune (laughter). There is a saying in Sanskrit, “Dadatu dadatu gaali; gaali manto bhavantu”. How many of you have heard this saying?
There are three meanings associated with the word ‘gaali’. One is harsh or abusive words. The second meaning is wealth, and the third meaning is a cycle.
So this saying means, “May the one who speaks abuses become wealthy and prosperous”. So when you listen to someone’s abuses, then your negative karma drops off and gets nullified. You should understand it this way. And when negative karma dissolves, all kinds of wealth and prosperity follows.
