Sri Sri was honored with the Siddhashri Award in Belgaum, India for The Art of Living’s humanitarian work and contribution to society. This was part of the valedictory ceremony of the two-day 28thGuruvandana program organized by the Mugolkhod-Jeedaga Math.

Sri Sri was honoured by Mr. Kamath, Chairman of BANCON, at the Annual Banking Conference at Pune. Addressing the gathering, he said; “Innovation is a combination of intellectual sharpness and intuitive ability. Why is there corruption, crime? It is because people have lost the confidence to make money. Money is a means to earn something more than money - ‘happiness’. That which gives you absolute comfort - inner and outer, absolute confidence, creativity and compassion is ‘real happiness’!”
Sri Sri visited 9 districts in 10 days spanning nearly 1500 kms, and met more than a million people during his Maharashtra tour.

Over ten million people attended the NaadSanskritisatsang in Sangvi, which showcased the rich culture and tradition of India.
There was also a three-day health and happiness workshop where hundreds of people learnt yoga and meditation.

Speaking against corruption, Parbhani, Nov. 21
Speaking at a commemorative function, Sri Sri spoke against the practice of corruption and urged each individual to stand up against corruption. The Mayor felicitated Sri Sri and appreciated Art of Living’s humanitarian work and Sri Sri’s vision.
Later in the day, Sri Sri went to Osmanabad where thousands of people joined him in a mahasatsang and meditation. He said: Our country has the solution for suicide - spiritual education! Suicides have stopped in 512 villages in Vidarbha, (where The Art of Living has intervened). Our country has a great heritage but the present state today needs serious thought. We need spiritual awakening in our country.”
Sri Sri also visited the Tuljabhavani temple and interacted with Art of Living volunteers. Enroute to the city of Pune, Sri Sri addressed 30,000 farmers in Rajewadi and urged them to adopt organic farming practices.

The overhead mid morning scorching sun did not deter more than 50000 people from occupying the grounds and roof-tops at the Kisanmela in Lonar. “If the village improves, the country will improve, the heart of the country is in the villages,” said Sri Sri. He also urged farmers to make our country free of harmful chemicals and fertilizers and preserve our land, water and environment
20 November declared as Cleanliness Day in honor of Sri Sri, Selu, Maharashtra
The local body, the Selu Nagar Parishad commemorated Sri Sri’s visit to Selu by declaring November 20 as Sri Sri Swachata Divas” or cleanliness day.
Sri Sri spoke on promoting organic farming. After the meeting, Sri Sri moved on to the satsang grounds and was welcomed by a sea of people.
