Eco-friendly Vermiculture

A vermi-culture project commenced on 14th June 2007. Vermi compost enhances the plants’ ability to fight against pests and diseases and provides a higher concentration of nutrients. It improves soil structure due to the presence of soil-binding chemicals and improves physical properties of the soil like soil air, soil temperature, soil water retention and soil mechanical impedance. Due to non-presence of toxic enzymes, it is eco-friendly and it also has a beneficial effect on the bio-chemical activities of the soil.

The promise of prosperity and the enthusiastic reception of the locals have prompted a greater number of projects. Over 200 bandaras and vermin-culture projects have been planned in Amravati district of India which will benefit hundreds of people. The project was completed by June 2008.
