Lawyers Explore Spirituality And Social Responsibility At Art Of Living's Legal Conference

Bengaluru, 14 June, 2015: Eminent lawyers and judges from across the country congregated at The Art of Living International Centre, Bengaluru to attend Legal Culture and Spirituality Conference on 14th June, 2015 organized by the Art of Living.

The conference was inaugurated by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, The Art of Living; Justice M.L. Mehta, Delhi Dispute Resolution Society; Retd. Justice Raveendran, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, National Spokesperson, BJP and Member of Parliament, New Delhi;  Justice L.N. Reddy, Chief Justice, Patna High Court; Mr. Chandrajeet Bhal, Additional Solicitor General; and  Cmde. Sarvotham Rao, Chairman, Vyakti Vikas Kendra India.

A free legal helpline service was recently started in 10 states (including Karnataka) across India by The Art of Living. People can call the Legal Cell Helpline between 8 am to 8 pm on all days on the number 8088820555. Callers can seek consultation from legal experts on matters relating to family disputes, property matters, and women's issues among many others.

The Conference envisioned establishing value driven practices in the legal services, discussed the tools to manage the well being of the people who are engaged in this conflict- ridden profession, and also offer solutions to discover and develop the human potential in this field.

The conference also saw a panel discussion between stalwarts from various fields on the topic, ‘Social Responsibility of Legal Professionals’. The speakers at the Panel Discussion included Chief Justice L.N Reddy, sitting Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Justice R.S. Chauhan, sitting Judge of Karnataka High Court, Dr Venkat Rao, Vice Chancellor, National Law School of India University and Rtd. Justice M.L Mehta.
