Deputy Premier highlights DCCC

Manama: May 6 – (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received the founder of the Art of Living International Centre, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who attends the Dialogue between Civilizations and Cultures Conference "DCCC" hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Deputy Premier welcomed Sri Shankar and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a very nice stay and the conference to achieve the desired success in the service of all humanity through the exchanging of diverse experiences and cultures to boost the principles of understanding and worldwide dialogue.

Shaikh Khalid was briefed on the objectives of the Bangalore-based Art of Living International Centre as well as its role in boosting the principles of inter-faiths dialogue, the shunning of violence and constant call to achieve security, peace and stability.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa praised the big role of the Indian community as a direct contributory in the local development in various fields which reflects the historic bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples fostered by the paramount care and diligence on the part of both leaderships. Shaikh Khalid also praised the harmonious cohesion of Indian nation which made it a successful example of peaceful co-existence within religious and civilisational diversity.

Gurudev praised the Bahraini leadership's initiative and keenness on hosting such conferences that bring together the embracers of various beliefs and civilisations under one roof.

The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Europe-based Art of Living Centre, Christoph Glaser, and several delegation members. (IY)
