Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Signs MOU with North Miami Mayor Haiti

North Miami Mayor, Andre D. Pierre, Esq. and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Haitian Trauma relief. They agreed to focus on promoting the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the Haitian Diaspora by providing programs to combat trauma, as well as encourage healing and empowerment.
The International Association for Human Values (IAHV), the sister organization of the Art of Living has been engaged in providing trauma relief in Haiti since 2007. Presently it is working in both Haiti and South Florida, providing stress and trauma relief post earthquake. Sri Sri was in town to address a 900-strong gathering at the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood.
Two US Cities declare Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Days

Two cities in the USA, Denver and Milwaukee declared April 20, 2010 and April 23, 2010 respectively as Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Days. On a 21-day tour of the country, Sri Sri was bestowed with the honor in recognition of his contributions worldwide. The proclamations were signed by Mr. John Hickenlooper, the Mayor of Denver and Mr. Tom Barrett, the Mayor of Milwaukee. The two cities joined twelve other cities in the country that had earlier announced Sri Sri Ravi Shankar days.
During the visit Sri Sri addressed the management and employees of Target Corporation, one of the largest retailers in the USA, at their headquarters in Minneapolis and spoke about the importance of having a sense of belongingness with one's organization.Sri Sri also received letters of welcome and commendation.
Sri Sri Inagurates a new Art of Living Centre

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar inaugurated a new Art of Living centre in Los Angeles, USA on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. The Centre, a 100-year old church, is a registered national historic monument that is now an Art of Living center to carry out its service initiatives and courses. The Centre will offer Art of Living courses to the public and will also host cultural events and programs.
Sri Sri gave a discourse on the Upanishads in the Centre from April 15- 17. He also addressed two universities during the visit: UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and USC (University of Southern California).
Towards a Violence-free America

His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and His Grace Bishop Stephen Randolph Sykes, IOC Orthodox Bishop of Hawaii spoke on spiritual values and shared their thoughts on creating a violence-free America at a meeting in Hawaii. Sri Sri started the ‘Stress-free, Violence-Free America’ initiative in 2007 at an event in Washington DC to commemorate 25 years of the Art of Living.
All projects of the Art of Living are directed towards reaching Sri Sri’s vision of a stress-free, violence-free world, including youth empowerment projects, stress management workshops and prisoner rehabilitation initiatives.
Sri Sri Visited Kauai Monastery

Public Talk at Trusts Stadium Auckland

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar addressed an audience of over 4000 in the Trusts Stadium in Auckland on Sunday. He spoke about the relevance and need for the Ancient Wisdom to face Today's Challenges. It was an evening with music, meditation, some simple stress - relief techniques and wisdom. Around 200 Maoris also attended the event. One Maori gentleman shares that " His beliefs remind me of the beliefs of the elders of my tradition," reinforcing that human values transcends the boundaries of culture and land.
Sri Sri met Sri Lankan Tamils

His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar meets over 400 Sri Lankan Tamils in Switzerland. He conducted a guided meditation for 20 minutes. He asked the Sri Lankan Tamils to come up with ideas to the uplift the Tamil Refugees in Sri Lanka.
Yamuna Clean-Up Campaign

His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar launched The Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna (MDMY), on 17th March 2010 in New Delhi. MDMY is the seven-month campaign to clean the Yamuna and aims to make a difference to Delhi and NCR. Thousands of people turned up at Purana Quila to become a part of the event. Hundreds of NGO’s, organizations and corporate are part of the initiative. Many dignitaries, politicians, businessmen and corporate heads were also a part of the event.
Urging a Compassionate action Plan to combat HIV

Sri Sri was a keynote speaker at the Summit of Religious Leaders in response to HIV in Netherlands on March 23, 2010. He urged religious leaders to speak openly about the disease. “I am of the firm opinion that stigma and discrimination around the disease can only be overcome if religious leaders openly speak about it,” said Sri Sri, urging the creation of an effective action plan that is compassionate, effective and humane. Sri Sri said: “If all of us can take on this project to educate the youth, to educate youngsters about healthy living, positive thinking and a stigma-free, inhibition-free attitude towards people, we have taken a big step.”
Mahakumbh

Sri Sri celebrated the festival of Holi and he performed the Ganga Aarti at Haridwar. Thousands of people were part of this event. He said, “Holi is a festival of colors. This whole world is so colorful. Just like in nature there are different colors associated with our feelings and emotions: anger with red, jealousy with green, vibrancy and happiness with yellow, love with pink, vastness with blue, peace with white, sacrifice with saffron and knowledge with violet. Each person is a fountain of colors which keep changing”
Addressing masses in troubled Bodoland

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, as a part of his eight-day long tour in the North-East of India, addressed the rural masses in Bongaingoan, the troubled district of lower Assam. Over 100,000 people turned up in Salmara in Abhayapuri to hear Sri Sri's message of peace and love. Sri Sri also urged people to adopt organic farming methods (rishi krishi) and Ayurveda. The Art of Living runs five schools in that area and has plans to build more. Volunteers of the Art of Living have been working in this area to bring peace and understanding.
