Bangalore University presents Sri Sri with honorary doctorate

Bangalore: On his arrival from Germany yesterday, Art of Living founder and humanitarian, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was presented with an honorary doctorate degree from the Bangalore University.

The Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University, Dr. N. Prabhu Dev along with the Registrar, Mr. Sanjay Vir Singh, and syndicate members from the university, visited the Art of Living International Centre to present the doctorate degree to Sri Sri.

The citation read, “In recognition of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s unmitigated efforts towards nurturing global peace and in respect of his endeavors to free society and individuals from the travails of modern existence, Bangalore University is privileged to confer upon him the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters”.

The honorary doctorate degree had earlier been conferred on Sri Sri in absentia on 30 April 2009.
