Faith is to love something you have no idea about.

In any field of activity, conflict might arise. When they arise, be indifferent to them. That is the indication that your love is strong. You know, when you see the intention behind a mistake as right, the mistakes doesn’t bother you. This is a completely new level of knowledge.You remember, once I said, ‘don’t see intention behind other people's mistake’. Now I am saying see intention behind other’s mistake. Because when they are doing good things with good intention and the action has gone wrong, then you don’t mind that. Doctor is operating a patient. His intention is to save the patient but in the process the patient dies, you don’t blame the doctor as his bad intention. But a dacoit, you can’t forgive a dacoit that way. A terrorist, you can’t forgive a terrorist that way, because his intention was to cause terror. But if you become more intelligent and see even beyond that, his very intention is so stressed, so ignorant, then compassion arises. If you see intention behind other people’s mistakes, and see that the intention was right but the action became wrong, you don’t mind that mistake so much. You are able to be with them, support them, and help them come out of it. Like it happens in a family, a child does a mistake; you know he/she is not doing something wrong intentionally. In the same way a husband lies to his wife. Why does he lie? Because he loves her, he doesn't want to lose her love, so he tells a lie to her. He is afraid the truth may damage the love. So here love wins and truth takes the back seat.

If truth is more powerful then someone will just go and say truthfully something. Why he or she is hiding the truth? Because they value love more than the truth.
If at all there is any fight between love and truth, I tell you, love will win! Truth will fail. It is the fear of losing love, because we value love more than anything else in life, that a person even tells lies. So, if a wife or a husband can notice this, my husband/wife is telling lie, because he loves me, because he does not want to hurt me, then her/his whole attitude towards him/her will be different. Then she will hold his ear and tell him, “Ok, you know, I know that you told me a lie. But never mind, I don't mind that you told me lie.” You know, like a mother tells a kid.
When that space is created, truth comes. When love is challenged by truth, it is truth that wins. That’s why love fails. One need to follow the sutras of devotion, of Bhakti in each field. If there is no devotion, no work can be done properly. Today we need this all the more in our work culture. If you are not devoted to work, there is no devotion in you, then how can you perform anything well? The work suffers a great deal. And it’s the conflict that makes you lose your devotion in work. Whenever any conflict arises in your devotion, your devotion to your work or family or friends or anywhere, don’t pick on it. Be indifferent on it. Are you getting what I'm saying?

Same with the religious or spiritual program. Sometimes you don’t feel like doing a meditation, your practice or prayers or whatever. It's so boring, you don't feel like doing. When you feel like that, what do you do? When you love something, you keep doing it. When you don’t love, that’s when the conflict arises. Love something which you do not know. That is called shraddha, faith.
Faith means what? Faith is to love something that you have no idea about.
