Europe Meditates for Peace

As the world resounds with the voice of division, the voice of peace needs to ring in louder and stronger. Peace begins with each individual and engulfs those around. And so the circle of peace keeps spreading and it affects families, societies, entire communities and the world at large.

On August 5, 2016, people from 7786 locations in 143 countries participated in Europe Meditates for Peace.

How does meditation help in peace building?

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar often says, “Inner peace to outer peace. When an individual is strong from within, he/she can move out into the world and make a difference.”

Meditation provides an individual with peace, confidence and stability, impacting the way we communicate and behave with the world outside. 500 studies conducted in over 200 universities demonstrate that individual and group meditation improve the quality of life for all. As the world is witnessing an increase in violence, conflict and prejudice, let’s use meditation as a peace building block amongst all of us.
