Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Lebanon

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar arrived in Lebanon for a two day visit. In his maiden visit to the Middle East, He conferred with the social activists and religious leaders in regarding peace processes in the Middle East and rebuilding a war torn nation.

He was given a warm welcome by hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers in Lebanon where Art of Living has been a uniting factor for Muslims, Christians and Drus. Upon his arrival, Gurudev was greeted by the Shiite Sheikh Sayyid Hani Fahs and they discussed the current situation in Iraq. Sheik Fahs expressed his deep felt gratitude that, in these troubled times Lebanon was blessed by the arrival of the foremost spiritual leader from India.

His Clemency, the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Mohamed Qabbani appreciated Gurudev's efforts and lauded his techniques and teachings that reduce anger and create a sense of well-being. He quoted many verses of the holy Quran in support of his statements.

Gurudev gave a call to focus on a common goal rather than the differences and to rebuild the bridges of peace and harmony.

His Beatitude Mar Nasrallah Boutros Cardinal Sfeir Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and all the East welcomed Gurudev at his palace.

The day ended with Gurudev’s address, attended by hundreds at the UNESCO Palace, where he conducted a meditation and answered questions.
