Kathak In ‘Art of Living’ Programme

BHOPAL :  A cultural programme titled ‘Paridrishya’ was organised at Samanvaya Bhawan Auditorium here on Monday under the aegis of The Art of Living. As many as 12 Kathak dancers performed on the occasion displaying their talent and prowess in the field of dance. Melodious Bhajans were presented.

Various dances forms namely Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Folk Dance and Yogic Mudras were also presented. Yogita Singh, a member of MP Apex, Art of Living said, “The concert was a glimpse of the three-day ‘World Culture Festival’ which would begin from March 11 at Delhi in which 35 lakh people from 155 countries will participate. Prime Ministers of 36 countries would participate in the fest, which would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As many as 8000 musicians with 40 musical instruments would perform in the fest. In the fest, 100 Bharatnatyam dancers, 1500 kathak dancers, 1500 nathi dancer of Himachal Pradesh, 1000 garba dancers, 1500 Mohiniattam and Kathakali dancers, 1000 Odissi dancers, 1000 Bhangra dancers from Punjab, 1000 Rajasthani Ghoomar dancers, 1000 Panthi dancers from Chhattisgarh, 300 Bihu dancers from Assam would participate,” Singh added. She further added that “86 musicians and 12 kathak dancer are selected from Bhopal for the fest.”
