International Association
for Human Values (IAHV)

The Art of Living Foundation works in close collaboration with the International Association for Human Values (IAHV). The IAHV was created in Geneva in 1997 by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as a global platform for humanitarian initiatives that solve problems by uplifting human values. Through its country organizations and partners, IAHV conducts service projects, educational programs and raises funds for humanitarian and disaster relief initiatives throughout the world.

Globally, IAHV is an Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.  Nationally, IAHV Canada is a charitable organization, registered with the Canada Revenue Agency. IAHV Canada offers a range of educational programs to benefit various sectors of society and to promote the development of human values:

  1. Corporate sector:  Corporate Programs.

  2. Youth in schools: “Youth Empowerment and Skills” (YES), for elementary grades, and high school.

  3. Prison population:  “Prison SMART” (Stress Management and Rehabilitation Training)

  4. Returning veterans of war suffering from Post-Traumatic-Stress Syndrome:  “Project Welcome Home Troops” (PWHT).

  5. Aboriginal peoples:  “Youth Leadership Training Program” (YLTP), and “5H” program – Health, Hygiene, Homes, Human Values, Harmony in Diversity.

  6. “Deepening Roots” for youth: Developing eco-friendly attitudes and providing education in sustainable agricultural practices, including permaculture.
