Abhinav Gupt Greatest Symbol of Kashmir’s Identity: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

President of Abhinav Gupt Sandesh Yatra and chairman Art of Living, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Saturday said that Abhinav Gupt is the greatest symbol of Kashmiryat and there is no need to worry about this yatra.

He added that Kashmiris should feel proud of this renowned scholar of 11th century.

Speaking during the concluding ceremony of Abhinav Gupt Sandesh Yatra at Zeshta Devi Mandir here, he said Abhinav Gupt is the greatest symbol of Kashmir’s identity as a knowledge centre.

“Annual Amarnath Yatra is already taking place (in Kashmir). People have apprehensions that new yatra would harm anyone. Abhinav Gupt is part of Kashmiryat. Kashmiri youth should join the yatra and take proud of this ancient scholar. The Kashmiri youth should also feel proud of their rich culture,” he added.

“A philosopher and aesthetician, he (Gupt) was an excellent seeker, philosopher and exponent of Shaivism. The diversity of Indian thought is synthesized in his writings,” he said.

“The entire world knows about this great philosopher and world renowned scholar but in Kashmir very less are familiar about him and his personality despite the fact that he belonged to this place and has propounded his philosophy and thought from here,” he added.

Earlier, speaking to media persons, he said, “Abhinav Gupt was from Kashmir and to pay respect to him is everyone’s duty.”

Bharat Raina, organizer of the Yatra, said that the religious march reached Tulmulla on Friday. He informed that the yatra would culminate at the cave located on the foothills of Bairum in Beerwah.
