CHENNAI: Shia-Sunni Unity Movement on Tuesday congratulated spiritual leader and Art of Living founder Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who received the Padma Vibhushan for his efforts to bring peace and harmony to the world.
In a statement, general secretary of the organisation Nusrath Ali Khan noted that Gurudev had extensively toured West Asia, including Iraq and Karbala, to spread his message of peace and reconciliation.
He said the Shia-Sunni movement was inspired by Gurudev's efforts to reach out to Isis to end its campaign of violence and killing in the name of religion.
