Issue addressed: Role of youth in achieving peace

Aim: To inspire youth to take a proactive role in spreading peace within their communities and societies

Sri Sri speaks: “The youth of today face many obstacles and challenges. They should build their strengths through their weaknesses.”

Conference proceedings and speakers

Over 1,600 youth leaders from India interacted with peace experts.

  • Speakers explored the roles of corporate houses and heath sectors in facilitating development of the underprivileged communities. Collective efforts like health insurance and technological initiatives would break the barrier of affordability, they opined.
  • The sessions also focused on creating a positive environment for promoting the rights of young people.

Outcome

  • Participants formed youth groups to action their plans that covered economic development, and social outreach programs They pledged to promote peace and human values in academics, sports and in their workplaces.
