Guidelines
- Registrations for the contest are open. Participants may register on the World Culture Festival Website or here. Only one submission per participant.
- Participants can register in any one of the following five categories: Short film making, poster making, song writing, essay writing, stand up speak out.
- The topics are mentioned above. Choose any one topic. Entries must correspond to the topics.
- All entries must be posted on Facebook from February 20th to March 7th, with the tag #WCF2016. The post must be made ‘Public’. The link to the post must be submitted here. Posts submitted before February 20 will not be accepted.
- The entries can be promoted until midnight March 7th IST. Any likes/shares posted after the deadline will not be considered.
- Participants will receive 10 points for every like and 20 points for every share. The participants with the maximum points will win.
- Each participant must receive a minimum of 500 likes and 100 shares to be eligible for any prize. Likes and Shares only on the post on the participants Facebook wall will be counted.
- Winning entries by specially abled participants will receive an additional amount of Rs 10,000 over the prize.
- There will be three grand prizes, across all categories and three prizes in each category. Participants who win the grand prizes will not be eligible for the individual category prizes.
Content Guidelines
- All content must be original. Any incidence of plagiarizing will lead to immediate disqualification.
- No content must promote a commercial agenda. Participants must not promote their own products, books, or businesses or their employers. Ideas or technologies can be promoted without any branding agenda.
- Participants must refrain from misusing scientific language to make unsubstantiated claims (pseudoscience).
- Content with inflammatory political agenda, religious agenda, or polarizing language will not be accepted.
Short Film
Get behind the lens, get into the director’s chair and grab that megaphone. This could be a step towards your film making aspirations. Pick a topic and choose to go the Nolan way or the Snowden way.
Rules and Guidelines
- The duration of the film should be minimum 2 minutes to maximum 5 minutes.
- Local language film must include English subtitles.
- All films must include uniform start and end plates which can be downloaded here. They need to be filled in accordingly and must be of a 5 sec duration each.
Poster Making
Pick up your brush/stylus/mouse and let the colours or their absence do the talking. You are free to use illustrations, images or text.
Rules and Guidelines
- All posters must be of dimensions 618 (w) X 1000 (h) pixels.
- The poster should be put up on Facebook in the Jpeg format.
Song Writing
Make music. Channelize your passion and make a great song that moves hearts and minds and hopefully the rest of the body as well.
Rules and Guidelines
- The duration of the song should be between 2 and 3 minutes.
- Participants must produce a complete song with vocals.
- The music and the vocals must be original.
Writing
Let your pen do the talking, make sure it’s sharpened.
- The written piece must be between 500-1000 words.
- The piece can be in any language.
Speech
Write your own speech and create your ‘I have a dream’ moment. This is your chance to stand up and speak out, for the world.
Rules and Guidelines
- The duration of your monologue must be between 1 and 3 minutes.
- The monologue must be a recorded video. Any language other than English must be accompanied by English subtitles.
