"What drives me to be passionate about I Meditate Africa (IMA) is my love for Africa and the joy of being part of a dream of a violent -free Africa. I have the tools to create peace in my life through silence and meditation and want to share these with the whole of Africa." Anu, Cape Town
"I Meditate Africa is the peace spreading in Africa.. The united prayers of people bonding in a family. The gratitude to the earth that holds us! I was full of joy when I took part in it and celebrated my belonging to Africa." Amira, Egypt
"I Meditate Africa is about taking peace as a concept towards peace as a tangible experience thereby allowing for the opportunity for peace to become a way of life rather than an unattainable ideal." Aneshree, Gauteng
"For me I Meditate Africa is a powerful unification tool that merges together the passion to serve and the desire to bring about meaningful change in a wonderful expression of unity. It helps our diverse cultures navigate the intricate social pathways to rediscover a shared intuitively-common vision to live in peace and harmony as a one world family! Gavin Huber
I participated in the "I Meditate Africa Campaign" in 2014 and was astounded by need that existed at schools for an initiative of this nature. It was equally astounding of how the ten minutes of "quite time", "mindfulness" and/or "meditation" as it is commonly known, helped children and adults alike. I am convinced that meditation can shape the future of our lives, the lives of our children and our communities by creating a healthy, safe and happier world! Sharmaine Naidoo
It is an incredible campaign that brings peace to a society. We all need tools that enable us to react and act in a more peaceful way, meditation is this tool and I firmly believe that we should be teaching our children in schools and colleges how to meditate. The children are the most vulnerable and in South Africa subjected to enormous amounts of stress within their family lives, at schools and in their daily interactions, teaching them how to meditate and find peace within is essential for our future.
