Patanjali Yoga Sutras
Every Monday

Notes:

Patanjali Yoga Sutras is a set of aphorisms that elaborates on the science, art and philosophy that is Yoga. In his simple yet illuminating commentary, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar examines this ancient scripture and explains how the principles of yoga may be applied to life today. Handling negative emotions, cravings and aversions, leading a life that is dispassionate yet dynamic, countering the tendencies of the mind with knowledge and practice, developing skills to stay centered amidst chaos, cultivating awareness -- these are but a few of the topics that Sri Sri covers in his commentary.

During the Yoga Sutra Course, we will engage in a systematic study of the text, including chanting of the sutras (in Sanskrit), and lively discussions. A key element of the course is to learn how to apply the yogic wisdom in our practical day-to-day lives, so we can profoundly elevate the quality of our lives.

We are fortunate to have Shriram Sarvotham with us who will be leading these weekly Knowledge sessions, himself is a Yoga teacher who has conducted over 200 workshops and retreats on Yoga and has conducted Knowledge sessions on Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita

Attendance for all sessions and arriving on time would be much appreciated. It would be up to the teacher to make attendance mandatory if he chooses. This would help maintain a very energetic and satvic environment and would be our way of showing our reverance to this precious Knowledge.

There will be need to have a couple of bi-weekly classes to finish the course by October end.
