Happiness is Your Nature

Peace and happiness are what you are made of!

So the true pursuit of happiness is actually a quest for self-knowledge!
If you turn your mind inward for a moment and simply observe what’s happening within you, you will always remain happy.
Unhappiness means you are far from yourself. You’re caught up in the world outside of you.
So take a step back, turn inward, and look within—and you will discover that you are happiness.
You, or your consciousness, is what always brings you joy, just as the sun always brings light.
Can the sun bring darkness? No.
In the same way, the Self always radiates happiness and energy.
But if you move away from it, your energy diminishes and sadness begins to flood in.

Broaden your perspective and know that life is more than the small events and situations that occur.

What steals your smile are unpleasant events—things that make you uncomfortable.
But when you realize that you are much greater than pleasure or pain, and much greater than the events of your life—whether pleasant or unpleasant—then the smile on your face will never fade.
Things come and go. And everything that comes and goes has a purpose.
The thorn and the soft pink petal—both have their mission.
In life, some things happen the way you want, others don’t.
Let it all be. Nothing should take away your happiness.

What clouds your happiness is:

“I want this and that.”
Wanting is what removes happiness.
Happiness is right where wanting and desiring end—and sharing begins.
Whether your desire is fulfilled or not, just be happy.
Don’t part from your desires, because when a desire isn’t fulfilled, it remains exactly as it was when you first wished for it.
And not all desires can be fulfilled. Some come true, others don’t.
The secret to happiness is having no desires and focusing on how to serve others.
The more you serve, the more happiness you will receive.
To have this feeling—“I don’t want anything for myself; I am content”—that brings happiness.
When you give or contribute to something that others need more than you do, it gives you the strength to get through difficult times.

Memories are not happiness

Happiness is what’s happening in the present moment.
People either dream of happiness or remember happiness.
This means they are either in the past or in the future.
But happiness is what happens now.
Very often we postpone our happiness until the perfect meeting, but it never quite happens.
Be in the present.
If you’re happy now, the past won’t haunt you, and the future will take care of itself.
This is the art of living!

Good practices make life wonderful!

Many times in life we decide to make it better, but let’s be honest—it doesn’t always happen, or it happens slowly.
You know what? Sudarshan Kriya—a simple technique taught in the Art of Living’s “Happiness Program”—is a tried and tested method that helps you deal with negative emotions, stress, and the ups and downs of life.
Life brings us its challenges, and if we want to stay emotionally stable, we need to manage our emotions.
Sudarshan Kriya might just be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Remember one thing:
You are responsible for your own happiness

Whatever happens, whatever people say—keep yourself happy.
Be firm in this: “I will not allow anyone to take away my happiness!”
Make this decision today and see what happens.
Nature will support you.
When you discover happiness within yourself, you’ll realize that happiness is unconditional.
