Morning Meditation

It is believed that the best time to meditate is in the morning, right after waking up.Although meditation is beneficial at any time of the day, it is especially powerful in the morning because our nervous system is not yet engaged with the day. And just as everything that happens during the day affects our nervous system, meditation can recharge us—especially when it is the first thing we do after waking up.Meditation prepares us better for the challenges we’ll face throughout the day.Morning meditation can be a shield against stress.

However, creating a daily morning meditation practice can feel discouraging.
We all face the challenge of establishing a regular habit.
But just like making breakfast, with a little more focus, we can start a morning meditation.

Here are some tips on how to start meditating in the morning:

♥ One of the most important questions before starting meditation in the morning is what time you go to bed.
If you don’t give your body enough sleep, how do you expect to manage in the morning?
Adults need between 6 and 8 hours of sleep, so try to get enough rest.

♥ Many people wake up feeling sad in the morning, and this can hurt the setup of your entire day.
In these cases, meditation can feel like “just another task,” instead of support for your day.
Morning meditation is the perfect remedy for sadness.
If you treat morning meditation as a way to overcome sadness and as a tool to improve your day, you will be far more motivated to do it.

♥ Many people are really busy in the morning.
For some, it’s the time when they get the most done.
Others feel like they don’t have enough time or feel too stressed thinking about what they need to accomplish—and so they can't start meditating.
But meditation can help you deal with the stress of your morning routine—and also help you handle tasks more effectively.

♥ The environment in which you meditate is also very important.
If you live without much space, try to create a personal spot for your meditation.
It doesn’t need to be an entire room—just a place that’s enough for you.
Also, see if you can meditate before the daily noise begins—before everyone else wakes up.

♥ Light is also important for establishing a regular morning meditation.
It has been scientifically proven that our bodies feel best in natural light.
Try to meditate in a spot where you get some sunlight.
This will help make your meditation more fruitful and give you motivation to continue.

♥ If you can’t create a habit of morning meditation right away, don’t be hard on yourself.
Every habit takes time to become regular.
But if you don’t try, you’ll never feel the benefits of meditation.
