Missions of the seva team

Kitchen

Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for our guests and the Ashram team, participate in dishwashing and kitchen cleaning.

House keepings

Prepare the rooms for courses and retreats guests, maintain bathrooms, halls, common areas, dining hall, outside areas, ... 

Garden

Help maintain the beautiful ashram garden.

Construction

Participate in renovation projects.

What is the mission of Seva at Bad Antogast?

The mission of Seva at Bad Antogast is to prepare the Ashram for the guests who come for courses and retreats. That includes : housekeeping, preparing rooms, cooking, gardening, construction/renovation, and other tasks as needed. You will join a team of sevaks ( volunteers coming for seva )  and ashramites ( resident team : reception, administration, teachers, ayurvedic doctors, ...) who all join together to make the ashram as welcoming as it can be.

What do we offer in exchange of your service?
  • Free vegetarian/vegan food & accommodation in shared rooms
  • Daily sadhana, meditation and satsang
  • Once a week long Sudarshan Kriya
  • Beautiful surroundings of the Black Forest for recharging nature walks
  • Opportunity to learn new skills
  • A conducive environment for introspection and personal growth
  • One day of rest per week ( You can stay at the ashram or go for a break in neighbouring cities )

During your stay, you can also visit the ayurveda shop and book a consultation with our resident ayurvedic doctor 

 

KINDLY NOTE: Bad Antogast is a tobacco-free, alcohol-free, drug-free and vegetarian-food-only house.

What does a day at the Ashram look like?

A general day looks like:

 

06:30 Pranayamas, Sudarshan Kriya & Sahaj Samadhi meditation  

08:00 Breakfast 

08:45 - 12:00 Seva with a 15m break

12:00 Mid-day Meditation 
13:00 Lunch 
13:30 - 17:00 Seva with a 15m break 
18:00 Dinner 
19:15 Guru Puja & Satsang

 

Inside this schedule you will also be doing dinner dishwashing and preparing the breakfast once a week
 

This schedule is only a guideline and is subject to change.

How long should I stay for Seva?

It is entirely up to you ! 

You can come for a few days, a couple of weeks, or up to 3 months. 

Is there any prerequisite to do seva at the Ashram?

Yes, there is. In order to ensure that you are ready for seva, we require the following : 

 

  • At least one Art of Living Part 2 Course (Silence Course)
  • A recommendation letter from your Art of Living teacher sent to seva@artofliving.de
