What is Yoga?
Yoga is a 5,000 year old system of life that provides a complete philosophy for living life healthily, happily and to our full potential.
The word yoga comes from Sanskrit (ancient Indian language) word ‘yuj’. It means union, integration, or wholeness. It is an approach to life that promotes the harmonious collaboration of the human being's three components: body, mind, and spirit. When all three act in unison there is harmony that leads to individual’s holistic growth and well-being. It also means union of individual consciousness with universal consciousness.
It is gift of India to the world. Taking materials about yoga from ancient traditions, Maharishi Patanjali, sage scientist wrote 196 aphorisms on Yoga around 400 CE. These aphorisms are full of precious wisdom and are even more relevant in this modern times.
