Are you a vegetarian and looking for some quick and delicious recipes? Then this post is meant for you! In this article, we will provide a list of five quick and easy vegetarian recipes you can make during the week.
Being a vegetarian means you have to follow a stricter, but healthier, diet. A lot of people think that being a vegetarian is very complicated as it compromises a lot of things that you could consume otherwise. However, this is not entirely true.
There are hundreds and thousands of recipes you can incorporate into your vegetarian diet. Although you have to skip meat and fish, there are a lot of soy-based products that you can substitute them with. Also, the most important thing is to incorporate enough healthy protein in your daily diet, and that can easily be achieved from soy, plants, veggies, etc. Therefore, you do not have to worry too much about compromising many ingredients. Soy-based products can also achieve the same taste as the meat does. But ideally, you will limit those, and base your diet on beans, veggies, fruits, and grains.
Being a vegetarian is also quite healthy and will help you reduce your weight, gain concentration, reduce your body fat index, and keep your heart healthy. According to WebMD, people on a vegetarian diet have a lower risk of death from ischemic heart diseases, lower cholesterol levels, and lower blood pressure. Therefore, there are definitely benefits associated with being a vegetarian.
What exactly is a vegetarian?
A vegetarian person eats only non-animal products such as fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, and soy. In addition to avoiding fish or meat, some vegetarians do not eat animal byproducts, such as dairy and eggs.
Vegetarian vs Vegan
Although the two diets might sound similar, there are some major differences between them. A vegan diet excludes all forms of animal-derived ingredients. It is strictly a plants, nuts, and grains diet.
On the other hand, many people eat animal-derived products on a vegetarian diet, such as milk, yogurt, or eggs.
What to eat on a vegetarian diet
As the vegetarian diet becomes more and more popular over the years, there are an abundance of recipes and products that one can consume. The obvious products you can consume are veggies, nuts, grains, breads, pastas, milk, eggs, etc. In addition, there are many soy-based products that mimic a lot of flavors of meat-based meals. For example, you can eat a vegetarian burger made of soy that closely resembles the taste of a meat-based hamburger.
