HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar conferred doctorate by MS University

BANGALORE: Renowned spiritual leader His Holiness Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was on Saturday conferred the Doctor of Letters Honoris Causa by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. The honour was conferred on Sri Sri by Chancellor of the university Dr Mrunalini Devi Puar at its 56th convocation ceremony in Vadodara.

Hailing Gurudevas an icon of non-violence, human values and universal brotherhood, Dr Puar said,

“Gurudev’s mission of uniting the world into a violence-free global family has inspired millions the world over.”

Addressing the convocation after receiving the honour, Gurudev said,

“Students need to be groomed as global citizens. We need to inculcate in our younger generation the team work of Japanese, marketing skills of Americans, precision of Germans, decency and etiquette of British and human values of Indians.”. “Technology has turned the world into a global village. Spirituality can make it a global family,” he added.

Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani was also awarded the Degree of Doctor of Science Honoris Causa at the convocation.
