“Just as rice is purified by ghee, our body by Ayurveda, our intellect by knowledge, our emotions by Satsang, and our soul by meditation, similarly, our money is purified by charity.”
- Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
What is Dharma Sthambha Yojana?
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s vision of a stress-free society is the founding vision behind The Art of Living and its sister organisations. This vision translates into action in two important ways: powerful personal development courses at the individual level and various large-scale social transformation projects at the community level.
Dharma Sthambha Yojana (DSY) connects a variety of social service projects with socially aware individuals who wish to contribute to the betterment of society. DSY effectively channels monetary contributions towards initiatives like Water Conservation, River Rejuvenation, Natural Farming Training, Education, Women Empowerment, Skill Training, Waste Management, Rural Development, and others. These initiatives go a long way in empowering our people and country in a sustainable manner.
Creating a more sustainable world where individuals are empowered & communities prosper
Providing value based education with a focus on academic & holistic development including practical knowledge and spiritual wisdom.
Providing innovative and scalable solutions to make India water +ve, The Art of Living started water conservation, rain harvesting and river rejuvenation projects a decade ago.
Progressing towards a cleaner, greener, and a sustainable environment through planting trees, organising cleanliness drives, and systematic waste management, etc.
Training farmers to produce a high yield at low cost with environment-friendly methods through natural farming and soil conservation.
Empowering youth from tribal, rural & urban slum communities through vocational training that leads to income-generating opportunities.
The Art of Living is working at the grassroot level, providing basic necessities such as solar electrification, youth empowerment, and the construction of toilets to make villages self-sustainable.
I feel privileged to part of this wonderful program. Through newsletters and web, I get to see all the tremendous work done by the team in field of education, trauma relief, environment, rural development, disaster management. It is a matter of joy and satisfaction.
The amount of work being done by DSY is phenomenal. With DSY, I'm assured that my money is going to the right place and will not be misused at any point. I personally also follow all updates whatever projects are being taken, I see those real pictures & also from the volunteers who are working there.
I have been contributing since 2011. The growth and success of my business, health and peace of mind has multiplied. It is a very satisfying and fulfilling.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to be a part of the various wonderful projects that the Art of Living is undertaking by means of a small donation.
The real happiness in our life comes when we could contribute to someone's growth. In the rush of our fast-paced life, we generally don't get time to provide our support to social causes. DSY projects are such unique projects where we can contribute and help volunteers across the world who are working to make a healthier and happier society. I feel happy and satisfied when I get a chance to contribute to society in these forms.
Dharma Sthambha Yojana is a great project that does several grassroots projects. I have visited the 'Gift A Smile' project of DSY and I have interacted with children and am impressed with the transformation of students.
