Yoga best way to gain happiness: Union health minister JP Nadda on International Yoga Day

Chandigarh: The Sector 17 Plaza in Chandigarh was the main venue for the event of 3rd International Yoga Day on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, union health minister JP Nadda said, “In present time, Yoga is the best way to gain higher level of health and happiness. We are happy that today, Yoga is celebrated as an international day.”

UT administrator VP Singh Badnore , who was the chief guest said,” Yoga not only leads to the physical exercise of body like to twist, turn, stretch, and breathe in the most complex ways, it also leads the body to healthy development of mind and soul by mastering certain yoga postures or asanas with breathing techniques.”

MP Kirron Kher, Ut advisor Parimal Rai, UT home secretary Anurag Aggarwal, Chandigarh BJP chief Sanjay Tandon and other senior officers of UT administration were also present on the venue. JP Nadda, VP Singh Badnore and Sanjay Tandon also performed yoga asans with the participants.

A turnout of 3000 participants was expected during the event , however only around 1500 participants made it to the event Wednesday morning.

Among the participants were various collaborating organizations from the city such as Patanjali, Art of living, Govt. College for Yoga Education and Health Sector-23, Brahmrishi Yoga Training College Sector-19, Brahm Kumaris, Yoga Federation of India, Chandigarh, International Naturopathy organization, Chandigarh Yoga Sabha, Bihar School of Yoga for Physical and Mental Health, Red Cross, Chandigarh Yoga Association, Himalayan Yoga, Sachitta Yoga and Chandigarh Police.
