The Art of Living Internship
Program

The Art of Living Internship Program is an initiative of the parent organization wherein we are offering an internship program for undergraduate and graduate students. This will be an exclusive opportunity for college students to participate in a variety of our social initiatives such as:

  • Classes for the underprivileged children in orphanages covering academic and extra-curricular activities
  • Upliftment of slums through vocational training, medical camps, surveys, etc.
  • Fund raising events like marathons and other awareness drives
  • Prison rehabilitation programs and much more

We wish to provide a platform for young and enthusiastic students to be a part of the social change that we intend to bring about in the life of the underprivileged. This program will not only help to inculcate human values in students but will also make them socially responsible individuals.

Educating the underprivileged

As an initiative to provide education to the underprivileged, we intend to create a sustainable teaching structure in orphanages/shelters where the children as well as the youth can be uplifted and motivated towards a better future. From teaching basic subjects to extra-curricular activities, we aim to nurture young minds in a holistic manner.

At present, our interns are teaching English, Art & Craft, Dance & Fitness and Soft Skills to around 100 students in an orphanage in Kolkata.

Engaging in slum development activities

Our objective is to make a difference in the lives of the people dwelling in the slums of Kolkata and the suburbs for their overall development and upliftment. We aim at providing practical and concrete solutions in slums after surveying and studying the needs and requirements of the slum-dwellers. Some of the other activities would include:

  • Fitness and Yoga sessions
  • Free medical checkups
  • Creating awareness on sanitation and hygiene
  • Facilitation in opening bank accounts and voter ids
  • Imparting vocational training to women
  • Spending quality time with the slum children and much more

The interns recently conducted a happiness survey in a slum in Kolkata, spent quality time with the children there and also successfully completed a health camp of more than 70 patients.

We look forward to initiating various other social activities by involving more and more youngsters.
