Gnana Kshetra plays a crucial role in Gurudev's vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (one world family). The first Gnana Kshetra was inaugurated in 2007 at Kollam district in Kerala and as of today, we have more than 100 functional Gnana Kshetras across India. India has exceptional diversity with each town and city possessing its own charm. These Gnana Kshetras have been constructed to exude cultural milieu of the region they are located in.
In 2005-2006, Kerala took the initiative and set the ball rolling for Gurudev’s vision of having Gnana Kehtras in different states of India. Around the same time, Gurudev visited Kerala and laid foundation for 12 Gnana Kshetras in just one day. The foundation laying ceremony of these 12 Gnana Kshetras done on a single day is a remarkable feat in our journey. Kerala is intending to build 108 Gnana Kshetras, out of which more than 40 Gnana Kshetras are already operational. Apart from Kerala, we have Gnana Kshetras located at Mysore, Nagpur, Bodhgaya, Mumbai, Assam, Chennai, Surat, and Goa amongst others.
