Almond & Beet Bread Spread

When hunger hits we tend to eat the nearest unhealthy snacks we can get. Try out this vegan snack that is easy to make and is high in nutrients


  • 1/2 cup of almonds
  • 1/4 of an organic beet - chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 an organic tomato
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • Small bunch of fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper according to taste


  • Grind almonds into a paste
  • Add chopped beet, tomatoes, lime juice, olive oil, salt and pepper
  • Blend it all together in a food processor
  • Garnish with fresh dill
  • Serve on some great gluten free rice bread - I like the Food for Life brand as it is soy, corn and egg free


  • Almond increases vigor and according to ayurveda is good for pacifying vata diseases like constipation and nerve disorders
  • It has antioxidant and anticarcinogenic properties
  • Beetroot contains antioxidants, fiber and minerals like potassium and magnesium
